1). Meeting Called to Order: DD
• Meeting was called to order at 6:43 pm.

2). Secretary Report - LT
• November minutes were approved via email and posted on CLUA website
• Event Page was updated for upcoming Earth Day Event and pictures from the last Fall clean-up

3). President Report – TS
• No report in March

4). Vice President Report – GP
• Tennessee Clean Water Network – Need contributions. If members want to donate, please send to: TCWN, P.O. Box 1521, Knoxville, TN 37901. CLUA provided a contribution in 2017-2018 and will reconsider again in 2018-2019. Also see https://www.tcwn.org/.
• Investigating new water sampling test tools and kits (see more information below).

5). Committee Reports

a. Jefferson County – TS/DD
• Posted flyer in Community paper of the Standard Banner
• Announcement of meeting- Newspaper update for April and will also contact WJFC radio station for public service announcements.
• Chamber will give us a mailing list of members to mail out our event flyer
• Black Oak Marina – Ned from Black Oak was contacted and they will continue their support and paid the $25 membership
• Updated the CLUA Facebook with meeting and Spring Clean-up Event
• Gene Dunn, Leona Toll, George Proios, and Jim Whiting attended Parks and Recreation Summit, held at College Square Mall Feb 10th
Action item: Distribute flyers and spread word on CLUA to get new members and volunteers

b. Hamblen County – FD
• April 14th tire collection is free at the Landfill
1. Action item: Distribute flyers and spread word on CLUA to get new members and volunteers

c. Hawkins County – DT & LT
• DT coordinated Chelaque Estates spring clean-up for April 20. Need supplies bags, gloves, pickers before event.
• DT/LT will be working with David Miller for the Earth Day cleanup on April 21. We can use signs made for last year.
• LT has the meetings posted in the Rogersville Review for the last few months. Sent Earth Day Event – has not been posted as of today.
1. Action item: CLUA need to get list of business form Chamber of Commerce
2. Action item: Contact Fall Creek concerning upcoming Event and membership with CLUA
3. Action item: Distribute flyers and spread word on CLUA to get new members and volunteers

d. Grainger County – JW
• Distributed “Grainger Today” Article concerning bi-annual fall cleanup from November.
1. Action item: Distribute flyers and spread word on CLUA to get new members and volunteers
2. Join Chamber of Commerce

6). Adopt a Barrel Report:
• No report for March meeting
• Action Item for next meeting: RS will help update list of location of all barrels on to maps.
• Action Item: LT help create a page on CLUA Website of the Barrel locations.

7). Treasurer’s Report: DD
CLUA is on a fiscal year July – June. Report for period ended February 28, 2018:

• Cash Account, Disbursements and upcoming expenses: Checking account – balance is $4729.52. Income - $0 month, $3,275 YTD. (Grant of $2500 received in Jan and $500 was received in October for a total of $3,000 in grants)
• Disbursements $132.48 month, $2072.96 YTD. (Expenses since last October include Pens $137, $155 in Chamber of Commerce dues, $120 in advertising, $56 postage, $12 office supplies, and $182.55 in cleaning supplies)
• Upcoming expenses-
o Board approved $700 for promotion T shirts for the volunteers to be handed out at the April 21 – Earth Day Clean up.
o Board approved $375 for the purchase of 25 pickers for members boats.
o Board approved $382 for 250 Floating Key Container for promotions items.

8). Water Sampling:
• 3rd Tuesday of each month (April – October). Need to contact Dr. Carr before 1st water samples in 2018. Plan to start around April 17
• Urgent need for two additional volunteers to help take water samples at Cherokee Lake. We currently have three, however one will be absent the remainder of 2018.
• GP said he will evaluate possible purchase of a probe or a sensor for addition water quality sampling parameters (e.g., dissolved oxygen, turbidity and temperature).
• Action Item: DT help generate map and summary table of all water quality sampling locations (coordinate with the barrel sites).

9). Membership
• As of January 2018 - 5 membership have been renewed

10). New Business
• CLUA is on the approved list of organizations for Tennessee Promise
• CLUA members should try to do more events like boat shows/fishing tournaments to get the word out on CLUA and increase membership/volunteer base
• CLUA members should work with Chamber of Commerce on being Advocates for clean water
• Julie Graham – From 9-Lakes – Has tree seedlings to use for the event, she has some extra to offer if wanted for our event. The Norris Lake Project Clean-up will be held on 3/24.

11). Earth Day – Spring Clean-up
• April 21 from 9- 1pm
o Lakeside Marina (CLUA Lead Dave Toll (410) 279-1866) with Dave Miller (Lakeside Marina)
o Gilmore Dock (Lead George Proios at (516) 607-1566)
o Donna Dunn also looking to do special clean up with Black Oaks volunteers, possible sites may include Mossy Creek.
o Chelaque Estates – April 20 led by Dave Toll
o Dave Toll will contact HOA Legacy for their possible involvement.
o Dave Toll will try and coordinate with the Hawkins County Chamber of Commerce and Holston Utility for their possible coordination,
• This is a rain or shine event – no alternate date.
• Website will be updated with locations
• TVA will be at Lakeside Marina location before 9 a.m. – will provide (1) 21 flat boat and (1) barge. Brian will do Safety Talk before any boats go out.
• Dumpsters –
o Lakeside - DD will arrange dumpster but drop off for Lakeside Marina needs to coordinated with DT and Dave Miller. Expected timeframe will be from Thursday – Monday.
o Gilmore - DD and GP will help coordinate for Gilmore.
o Chelaque Estates – will drop off at Lakeside dumpster or bring to Hawkins County Recycling Center if permitted.
• Waivers with safety talk must be completed and signed by all volunteers before they go out on any boats. At end of event all forms should be given to Donna Dunn for record keeping.
• T-shirts will be given out to volunteers
• Gloves and bags will be supplies by TVA, and CLUA. CLUA is in need of 55-gallon heavy duty bags and good quality pickers. If in need of supplies before event, contact Donna Dunn. Need to lend or purchase pickers for the event.
• Any Pickers used should be returned at the end of Event for safekeeping to either TVA or CLUA
• GP will contact WJDT and other radio stations for PCA on Event
• Suggested other locations with ramps are Panthers Creek Park and Kidswell Ridge

12). Next Meeting
• The next BOD meeting will be on April 10th at 6:30 pm.
